VisualMedia Focus July 2005

Welcome to the July edition of VisualMedia's 'Focus' newsletter highlighting a selection of projects that we have been involved with over the past month or so.

As ever we've handled a wide variety of UK assignments ranging from the re-naming of a cruise liner for Princess Cruises in Southampton to Big Brother's Roberto having his hair crimped at Charles Worthington's salon in London. We have also covered several overseas assignments, the highlight of which was photographing one of Exel's fleet of trucks at the Great Wall of China.

Please remember that we also offer a full idea generation service free of charge with no obligation, so do call us to discuss any projects you may be planning.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,

Dan Shillum
Director

HSBC - Young Entrepreneur of the Year

HSBC - Young Entrepreneur of the Year

For over 20 years, HSBC has been the largest corporate supporter of Young Enterprise, a competition entered by 45,000 young people aged 15-19, who set up and run their own company over one academic year. VisualMedia devised and delivered a range of conceptual, generic photographs for the HSBC corporate communications team to use in press campaigns across the UK.

Princess Cruises - Sea Princess re-naming ceremony

VisualMedia was hired by Halpern PR to undertake b-roll and still photography for the re-naming ceremony of the Sea Princess with Joanna Lumley taking centre stage for the event. Utilising our international photographer network, VisualMedia was commissioned by Exel to provide photography at the Great Wall of China near Beijing. The objective was to show their vehicles in other countries around the world for future editorial announcements and internal use.

Tesco Personal Finance

Tesco Personal Finance

The challenge we faced here was to produce some generic images to illustrate pensions, loans and other products that Tesco Personal Finance offer. We therefore decided to put the names of these products on to tins and place them amongst Tesco branded food products in-store. These pictures are to be used for editorial purposes to accompany forthcoming announcements.

Charles Worthington - Big Brother's Roberto

Charles Worthington - Big Brother's Roberto

Big Brother's recent evictee Roberto had a close shave last week. Roberto's trim presence was noticed by our photographer who was 'dyeing' to get this shot in the papers. Capturing the moment on his own cutting-edge video camera, Roberto highlighted his joy at being semi-permanently in the public eye! (Groan ? ed!)

Working alongside Rainier PR on this assignment, the most powerful chess computer ever developed, "Hydra", made it's London debut recently, taking on the UK's leading chess Grandmaster, Michael Adams in the biggest man vs machine battle since Garry Kasparov took on Deep Blue in 1996 and 1997. This picture subsequently appeared in the Metro.

Intercontinental Hotels Group - Le Grand, Paris

Intercontinental Hotels Group recently briefed VisualMedia to produce a range of photographs to capture the essence of its Paris flagship hotel, Le Grand. The images, taken by one of our specialist photographers over a 3-day period, are for a marketing, advertising and public relations campaign showing Le Grand as a destination in itself as well as the stylish location.

First Choice - Interim Results

First Choice - Interim Results

For their latest interim results we were sent existing images by First Choice's PR agency, GCG Hudson Sandler, to see if they would be suitable for distribution to the press. There were some very good shots amongst the set that we then prepared, captioned and distributed to the national and regional press as part of our 'Pre-Supplied Photography' package. Widespread coverage was achieved, including this one across 5 columns in the FT.
