May 2006

Since our last newsletter back in February we have covered another diverse range of photography and video assignments for a wide variety of clients.

In this issue we look at a snapshot of assignments that have kept us busy over the past couple of months including a 'bubbletastic' world record attempt at Chessington World of Adventures, a corporate film production for E.ON UK and NTL's purchase of Virgin Mobile. All of these projects are covered in more detail below along with the usual selection of UK and overseas assignments.

Please remember that we also offer a full idea generation service, free of charge with no obligation, so do call us to discuss any photography or video work you may be planning.

We look forward to working with you.

Kind Regards,

Dan Shillum
Director

It's been a busy time for VisualMedia with client, Telewest - a merger with NTL at the beginning of the year and more recently, the purchase of Virgin Mobile in a £700 million deal. Working closely with the PR agency on this announcement, VisualMedia attended a photo-call at Buchanan Communications' offices and distributed images out to the press immediately afterwards. The pictures were used in wide range of publications including a variety of national newspapers.

E.ON UK - Corporate Film

After successfully winning a 4-way pitch back in November last year, VisualMedia has now finished a corporate film for E.ON UK. Filmed at 13 different locations around the UK, it was delivered earlier this month to great acclaim. The 4-minute film shows the range of activities in which E.ON UK is involved - from the inner workings of its business units to community projects - and forms part of an internal communications campaign.

Q: How many school children can you get in a giant soap bubble?
A: 19.

This record was set last week by Sam Sam the Bubble Man at Chessington World of Adventures and VisualMedia was there with both a photographer and film crew to record the event. The images were distributed to press and broadcasters, resulting in 'This Morning' picking up the b-roll and pictures appearing on BBC Online as well as in the Metro.

Stop Press…

It's not everyday you get to shake hands with a living legend but that's exactly the opportunity our MD Scott had when he came third at the Picture Editors' Guild karting Grand Prix held at Buckmore Park in Kent last Tuesday; John Surtees, the only man to have won World Championship titles on two wheels and four, presented the trophies. The annual event - once again sponsored by British Gas - allows picture editors to spend a day letting their hair down before discussing any relevant issues in the picture world. One amazing fact to come out of the day was that national newspapers now receive over 10,000 images in a 24-hour period. All the more reason to use VisualMedia for eye-catching photography and effective distribution!
